Which parameters offers the FINAPRES NOVA®?
The basic FINAPRES NOVA® offers the noninvasively determined finger and brachial blood pressure waveform, and beat-to-beat systolic, mean and diastolic blood pressure values. It further offers heart rate, inter beat interval and finger height (using the height correction unit). On top of these parameters you can add several hardware modules and software applications, each adding additional parameters.
How many sizes cuffs does the FINAPRES NOVA® system offers in the basic configuration?
In its basic configuration you will get a small, medium and large reusable cuff. This way you will not have to worry about a cuff not fitting your patient and you are set to do your measurement.
Is it possible to exchange components like the Finger Cuff, Height Correction Unit (HCU), Front End Unit of the FINAPRES NOVA® with the Finometer® PRO/MIDI and Portapres?
The FINAPRES NOVA® uses the same finger cuffs as the Finometer Pro, Finometer Midi and Portapres. However, the HCU of the FINAPRES NOVA® can only be exchanged with the HCU of the Portapres. The Front End Unit cannot be exchanged.
When do I need to calibrate the Height Correction Unit (HCU)?
The FINAPRES NOVA® will guide you through the calibration of the HCU prior to your measurement. If you do not connect your HCU, it will instruct you to keep your hand at heart level.
Will a service contract be available for the Finapres NOVA®?
Yes, Finapres will offer a service contract. It is recommended that you have the FINAPRES NOVA® checked and calibrated yearly
Is it possible to turn off the Physiocal?
Yes, you can turn of Physiocal whenever you want. However, keep in mind that Physiocal is essential for an accurate measurement and hence should only be turned off if needed.
Can the FINAPRES NOVA® input and/or output signal to other equipment?
Yes, the FINAPRES NOVA® has 8 output channels which you can configure to output any signal you that is available. It further allows you to show and record up to two analog input signals (0-10V) along with the FINAPRES NOVA® recording
Can I add a mouse and / or keyboard, what is needed to do so?
Yes, you can add a mouse and keyboard using a USB hub (without the USB hub some devices may not be recognized)
How does the FINAPRES NOVA® export data?
The FINAPRES NOVA® allows you to connect an USB stick or drive to export the raw data files, files in text format, PDF print outs and snapshots you can make during your recordings. Moreover, you can logon on the FINAPRES NOVA® via your local network and download the files you want.
Is a transport solution available?
It is possible to fix the FINAPRES NOVA® to a holder on your own transport solution.
Which printers can be connected the FINAPRES NOVA®?
The most common USB and network printers of Brother, Canon, Epson, Fuji, Gestetner, HP, Infotec, Konica, Kyocera, Lanier, Lexmark, NRG, Oki, Ricoh, Samsung, Savin, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba and Xerox are supported by the FINAPRES NOVA®
Does the FINAPRES NOVA® has network capabilities?
Yes, you can log on to the FINAPRES NOVA® via your local network and download raw data files, files in text format, PDF print outs and snapshots
How can I add other hardware modules and software applications to my FINAPRES NOVA®?
How will I be informed regarding new developed applications and modules?
Finapres has set out to constantly develop new applications that meet the needs of our current and future users. For that purpose the FINAPRES NOVA® is a true platform to which net hardware modules can be connected and on which new software applications can be installed. Every time such a module or application is released by Finapres we will promote this via our webpage, mailings and on conferences.
ECG
Finapres NOVA: Which kind of lead connection sets are supplied with the ECG module?
The ECG module comes with a 3 or 5 lead connection set. You can choose whether you want the IEC or AHA color coding for the leads.
Finapres NOVA: Can I order the ECG lead connection sets at Finapres?
Yes, you will receive an onscreen warning that tells you which lead is disconnected.
Does the ECG module recognize pacemaker spikes as well?
Yes, pacemaker spikes will be recognized.
Finapres NOVA: Do I always need an ECG module in case I use the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) testing module?
Yes, to ensure the highest accuracy in the parameters calculated by the ANS testing application the R-R interval and respiration signal of the ECG module are used.

How can I add other hardware modules and software applications to my FINAPRES NOVA®?
- Your FINAPRES NOVA® can be upgraded at any time with one of the optional hardware modules after you purchased it. However, a licensed technician will have to install it for you.
- For upgrading your FINAPRES NOVA® with additional software applications, all you need to do is contact Finapres. They will provide you with a code that enables the additional applications on your FINAPRES NOVA® without the need for a licensed technician to be present. It may be the case that a software application requires additional hardware.
- If you have bought your FINAPRES NOVA® prior to the release of the software application, you will be able to upgrade your device with new firmware. You can download this firmware from the Finapres website on an USB drive. All you need to do then is insert the USB drive into the FINAPRES NOVA and turn on the FINAPRES NOVA®. The FINAPRES NOVA® will do the rest for you!
